Tribal Fires is a podcast that will tell the stories of the Dumbartung Aboriginal corporations' 35-year history of working in the Bibbulmun Nyoongah community in the South West of Australia. These stories will tell of the cultural initiatives, interviews, and the political struggles that has challenged the survival of the organisation by attempted Government strategies to adversely attempt to cease the truth-telling and cultural empowerment of this crucial Aboriginal organisation.
Robert Eggington is the director of the Dumbartung Aboriginal organisation. He has worked in the Nyoongah community for 40 years. 32 of these years has been as Director of Dumbartung. The cultural initiatives, program projects of Dumbartung have been coordinated by Mr Eggington by his own initiative and creativity. He is 65 years of age and is a Wilmen member of the Bibbulumun nations.
Selina Eggington has been the project coordinator of Dumbartungs social well-being projects. Selina Eggington is the founder of the previously coordinated Aboriginal Women healing program called the Kootamiarra Quab meaning Healthy and Strong. Selina Eggington is the wife of Robert Eggington and they have committed their lives to the betterment of their community and people.
